Jennifer Tuck, Compounding Supervisor - Integrum Compounding Centre
Jennifer Tuck, R.Ph.T, a Registered Pharmacy Technician, is currently the lab supervisor at Integrum Compounding Centre in Calgary, Alberta. She has been practicing for over 17 years, gaining experience in both sterile and non-sterile compounding in different labs in Alberta. She helped create a state-of-the-art lab through lab design collaboration, writing standard operating procedures and creating elaborate Quality Assurance programs. In addition to running the compounding lab, she works with the Alberta College of Pharmacy as a Sterile Compounding Assessor, making sure sterile compounding labs are NAPRA compliant and using best practices to keep their patients safe. Jennifer was the recipient of the 2021 PTSA Pharmacy Technician Professionalism award and PCCA’s 2024 Compounding Pharmacy Technician of the Year award.
Michael Myers, Clinical Support Manager
Michael Myers has been an invaluable asset to Contec, Inc. since he joined the company in 1998. With over two decades of dedicated service, he has become a cornerstone of the organization, known for his wealth of expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence. Throughout his tenure at Contec, Michael has worn many hats, assuming various key positions that have allowed him to contribute significantly to the company's success. From product development to sales management and technical support, his multifaceted skill set has been instrumental in the growth and evolution of the company. One of Michael's most significant contributions has been his relentless dedication to the success of Sterile Compounding Pharmacies. For more than a decade, he has immersed himself in understanding the unique needs and challenges faced by these pharmacies. His focus on this specialized field has not only made him a subject matter expert but also a trusted advocate for those working in sterile compounding environments. In his current role as the Clinical Support Manager for Contec's Healthcare division, Michael plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of pharmacy technicians. He is dedicated to their ongoing education, developing essential resources, and conducting in-service training programs. His mission is clear: equip pharmacy technicians with the best practices for maintaining clean and disinfected environments in 503A compliant compounding pharmacies. This involves ensuring strict adherence to the stringent guidelines outlined in USP Chapters <797> and <800>, which are crucial for patient safety and regulatory compliance. Michael's dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed. In 2022, he received the prestigious John Martin Outstanding New Member Award from the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST). This recognition underscores his exceptional contributions to the field and his unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of environmental cleanliness and safety. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Appalachian State University. This educational background, coupled with his extensive experience, has empowered him to communicate effectively and provide invaluable support to pharmacy professionals nationwide.
Amy Kohler, Regional Compounding Supervisor - Horizon Health Network
Aimee is a Pharmacy Technician and Regional Compounding Supervisor for Horizon Health in New Brunswick. She oversees the preparation and operational processes for compounding within the organization. Aimee fosters integrity and is a motivator for positive change. Her biggest accomplishment during her career is developing a non-sterile compounding program for her organization which won her a national award from Pharmacy Practice and Business Magazine. Recently, her focus has shifted to sterile compounding, where she dedicated her time to standardizing preparation protocols and developing policies and procedures. Outside of her professional life, Aimee enjoys being active and spending time outside with her family.
Melanie Dorey, Co-Owner of Critical Compounding Resources
Melanie Dorey is a registered pharmacy technician and has worked in the compounding industry for over 16 years. She graduated from La Cite Collegiale’s 2-year Pharmacy Technician program in 2006 and started work at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) where she acquired a passion for sterile and nonsterile compounding. While attending the Sterile Compounding Boot Camp in Denver, Colorado in 2007, Melanie met several key industry experts who ignited her passion for sterile and nonsterile compounding. In 2014, she joined the team at CriticalPoint and Kastango Consulting Group where she continued to hone her skills while developing eLearning, standard operating procedures, as well as in person and virtual lectures. She also traveled to client locations to perform competency assessment and customized training. Melanie has served on a variety of committees with NAPRA and the Ontario College of Pharmacy. Melanie has now started a company called Critical Compounding Resources with Mary Nazzal which offers training and consulting services in both Canada and the US.
