As a member of the Pharmasave West resource team, reporting to the Region Director, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator (POC) provides pharmacy owners and their teams with operational support to achieve ongoing growth and success. The POC provides guidance to stores in areas such as pharmacy operations, staff training, change management, and implementation of professional services and other pharmacy programs and initiatives. Pharmacy Technician Duties

  • Fulfills all duties and skills as licensed by the College of Pharmacist of BC [HPA By-law 86, Schedule PT 1, 4]
  • Serves customers in person and by phone, fax and email
  • Receives prescriptions, collect and document customer information
  • Carries out the technical duties of filling prescriptions, including blister packs, ensuring all prescription documentation is accurate and complete
  • Provides prescription and usage information to customers
  • Performs basic compounding
  • Orders/re-orders prescription and non-prescription products and supplies as required
  • Receives delivery of drug orders, working to detailed receiving procedures
  • Stocks shelves with inventory inside pharmacy
  • Bundles and files daily written prescriptions
  • Maintains knowledge of home health care products and rentals
  • Maintains basic Cashier skills and provides Cashier coverage as directed
  • Performs diabetic meter demonstrations for patients
  • Performs light cleaning duties
  • Supports the Pharmacist with any tasks related to the operation of the pharmacy
  • Available to work in any of the Company’s stores to support the needs of the business

Reporting directly to the Pharmacy Manager, CPAK, you will be responsible to ensure that the prepared CPAKs are accurate and prepared in a timely manner.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct product verification on all CPAKs prepared to ensure accuracy and completeness of all prescription orders prior to delivery 
  • Operate and maintain the Synmed® Automated Dispensing equipment used to generate and produce weekly compliance packs for SDM stores, as well as prepare and package medications
  • Prepare CPAKs for delivery

Squamish General Hospital is a community facility with 25 acute care beds and provides services that include general medicine and surgery, obstetrics, palliative care, physiotherapy, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, laboratory, ambulatory care, chemotherapy, and emergency.
