DIRECTOR, EDUCATION: Bal Dhillon
Bal is a dynamic, results-oriented individual with more than 26 years of experience in the pharmacy profession. Her education background includes a MBA and a BSc. She also has an Associate degree, Provincial Instructor diploma from the province of BC, and various leadership certifications. Bal has extensive experience working in both hospital and community pharmacy sectors. She has strong leadership, management, and strategic planning skills, with the determination to succeed. Bal is also a Consultant/Program Facilitator involved in the designing, developing and delivering pharmaceutical compounding education for health care professionals in the topics of USP 797 and 795. Bal is the Director of Education at the Pharmacy Technician Society of BC (PTSBC). She was instrumental in the formation of the Society in 2011. Prior to PTSBC, Bal served as President for the Canadian Association of Pharmacy Technician of BC Chapter from 2005 to 2010. Bal continues to be involved in various initiatives, promoting education and personal growth for pharmacy personnel in British Columbia.
INTERIM DIRECTOR: Yonette Harrod
Mrs. Yonette D. Harrod has spent nearly 25 years in pharmacy related roles and has been an active member in the Pharmacy Technician community for the last fifteen. She first completed her formal Pharmacy Technician education at Red Deer College, Alberta and later went on to finish a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Since her graduation, Mrs. Harrod has returned to the pharmacy profession, becoming a Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) in the United States and with PTCB-Alberta. In 2011, she became one of the first registered Pharmacy Technicians with the College of Pharmacists of BC. She is currently employed by Lower Mainland Pharmacy Services and works at St. Paul’s Hospital as the Pharmacy Operations Support Coordinator. Aside from her daily duties, Mrs. Harrod actively supports and promotes the profession by volunteering as the Director of Finance for the Pharmacy Technician Society of BC, is a committee member on the College of Pharmacists Practice Review Committee, and a committee member of the Program Advisory Committee for the Pharmacy Technician program at Vancouver Community College.
PROMOTIONS COORDINATOR: Ashley Fairfield
Ashley graduated from a community college in 2004 and started working right away at Walmart Pharmacy from 2004 - 2007. She has been working with Fraser Health at the Pharmacy Drug Distribution Centre in Langley for the last 5 years and is currently one of the Pharmacy Supervisors. She is excited to write the PEBC Qualifying Exam in September 2012!
I am also the Mother of 2 beautiful children - Joshua and Emily. Outside of work I love to spend time with my husband and children, I enjoy cooking, camping and catching a movie when I can with my husband
