The Opportunity

We are looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician for our dynamic specialized pharmacy in Richmond, BC. The scope of this role includes checking, filling, and billing prescriptions, serving as a liaison with patients, doctors, programs, program coordinators, and drug plan representatives, and inventory management. This is a permanent, full time position which requires a working schedule of 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

We are offering a $1,500 signing bonus to provide unmatched patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with dispensing activities, such as technician driven prescription checks, filling, and billing prescriptions;
  • Assist with inventory activities, such as receiving orders and counting inventory weekly;
  • Contacting doctors and programs for prescriptions;
  • Communicating with program coordinators and insurers to secure coverage and solve coverage issues;
  • Responding to communication from various stakeholders in a timely manner, including monitoring email accounts and answering phones;
  • Other related tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Accreditation as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing an in adherence to the Standards of Practice with BC Pharmacy Board;
  • 1+ years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Experience using Kroll in a pharmacy setting;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills;
  • General computer proficiency and competence with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Proficiency with numbers and calculations;
  • Proven customer service skills;
  • Demonstrated effective time management and organizational skills;
  • High attention to detail within a fast paced environment;
  • Ability to problem solve, think critically, and make decisions;
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Capable of lifting and organizing boxes and inventory (5-10 lbs, repetitive movements);
  • Driven by continuous learning;
  • Able to work well within a team environment.
